Jesus Christ

Christianity is an Abrahamic religion based on worship of Jesus Christ as God incarnate. Therefore, this is also the article for Jesus Christ, although he is considered a prophet in Islam and Sikhi too.

Christians generally believe that Jesus was the Son of God, via the Trinity: God as one being in three persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). The holy book of Christianity is the Bible, consisting of the Old Testament before Christ and the New Testament during and after.

Life of Jesus and the early Church

Jesus was a communist. He said, "Again I tell you: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven." Clearly, he was saying rich people are damned, because all their wealth should be given to the poor or to communism (Christianity). However, most modern Churches twist his words to mean that rich people can enter heaven as long as they give some of their wealth to charity.

Jesus has been misrepresented as pacifist. Actually, he said:

"Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.

"Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."

Despite this, so-called Christians will complain that Mao's Cultural Revolution or Stalin's rule caused children to condemn their parents and expose their crimes.

The self-sacrifice that Christ demanded was seen among the Communists in the Russian Civil War, Great Patriotic War, and Chinese Civil War.

Jesus promised material rewards to his followers at the right time (i.e. in the coming Kingdom of Heaven on Earth), in addition to eternal life:

“Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in the fitting time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, after persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

In the last sentence, he refers to the uprising of the working classes and oppression of the bourgeois.

Jesus also spoke of infracels:

"All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given: For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.”

Early Church

Since the days of Jesus, the early Church was communist. All property was held in common and they opposed the Roman Empire.

The Church was eventually co-opted into the Roman Empire itself and became a corrupt institution.

Marx's Christianity

Haz talks about Marx's "monotheist humanism" which can be ontologically understood where 'being' is the unity of opposites.

Logo Daedalus considers Marx as a Christian. Communism is the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, which would not have any church or temple according to Revelations, because God is embodied in the people (the meaning of the Holy Spirit) and the communist state.

The abolition (or perhaps “distillation”) of religion is “the demand for real happiness” rather than “an illusory happiness.”

Religion under Communism would have no reason to exist— as described in the Book of Revelation 21:22 “And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”

In Christian terms, if Earth is governed as it is in Heaven— what is the Church then? It is simply “the way things are.”

Logo calls Marx "a Christian convert who found that Bourgeois Christian Society was Antichrist" and a "Church of Capital". "[Marx] celebrates American Christianity... Christ would be a Communist today, he would not 'keep his head down and go to mass.'" Despite the dogma that Marx was atheist, Logo's view is supported by Marx's actual words, such as:

the perfect Christian state is the atheistic state, the democratic state, the state which relegates religion to a place among the other elements of civil society.

Christianity in the Soviet Union

Joseph Stalin was a Catholic who studied to become a priest in his early life. Later in life, he reinstated the church in Russia after he and Lenin rooted out it's corruption. His bodyguard testified that Stalin attended church regularly and confessed sins to the patriarch. Stalin also had a Christian funeral and mass.

Trotsky was a militant atheist who played a key role in the League of Militant Atheists. Stalin was able to slowly weaken this league and finally shut it down for good.

Liberation theology has played a major role in Latin American socialism.
