Eurocommunism is a social-democratic movement that grew out of Western communist parties abandoning the legacy of Stalinism and turning to Khrushchevite revisionism during the Cold War.

One example is the Italian Communist Party, which was Eurocommunist from 1972 and became the "Democratic Party of the Left" in 1991.
