Communism is Islam
"Communism is Islam" is one of Haz Al-Din's signature theses: that communism and Islam are, at the level of their essential content, the same orientation — submission to the objective order (God/cosmos) against the idolatry of capital and of man-as-self-legislating-subject.
The argument
- Islam's core is tawhid (Tawhid) — the absolute sovereignty of Allah, before which all earthly powers are relative. Communism's core is the abolition of capital's false sovereignty and the restoration of the social whole. Structurally identical: both demand submission of the part to the objective whole.
- Both are irreducibly communal: prayer in congregation, zakat, ummah; the party, the commune, the plan. Liberalism's atomized individual is the common enemy.
- Rights in a communist society are not invented by contract but derived from the revealed moral order — Haz has said outright that communism and theocracy are "the same thing" at this depth.
- The slogan Allah, Cosmos, Xi Jinping performs the synthesis: divine sovereignty, cosmic order, actually-existing socialism.
Why it matters strategically
The thesis aligns the American patriotic-socialist movement with the Muslim world's anti-imperialist resistance rather than with the "Christian Zionist" right — and it scandalizes both liberal Islamophobia and secular-left Islamophobia at once. It also recovers the historical record: Soviet-Muslim convergence (Sultan-Galiev, the Affirmative Action Empire, Afghanistan's PDPA), and the Ottoman/Qing planned economies as non-capitalist order (Ottoman Empire, Qing Dynasty).
