Neo-Conservatism is Trotskyism
"Neo-Conservatism is Trotskyism" is the genealogical claim Haz Al-Din wields in debates: that neoconservatism is permanent revolution secularized — the same structure of endless ideological war, wearing different clothes.
The claim in context
Infrared's debates with groypers and rightists repeatedly hit the neocon question. Haz's usage:
- The Iraq War coalition ("France was not on board... freedom fries") is treated as a factional project distinct from American interests — the neocons as a network with its own eschatology (TRUE RED PILL NEWS stream).
- The DeSantis brand is diagnosed as its fusion with the culture war: "anti-woke plus neoconservatism — that was DeSantis... disgusting bourgeois retirees who combined Christian nationalist anti-woke sentiment with neoconservative aggressive foreign military agendas" (MAJOR VICTORY | COOKING GROYPERS stream) — with Haz noting Trump absorbed and transformed this brand after January '24.
- The Trotsky genealogy: the intellectual migration (Kristol, Burnham, Shachtman — ex-Trotskyists to Cold War liberalism) shows the structure persisting across labels: a vanguard of pure idea, permanent war against the "reactionary" world, revolution exported by force. Permanent revolution minus the proletariat.
The polemical point
The equation serves Infrared's method: judge movements by their social content and actual operations, never their vocabulary (Anglo Box). Trotskyism itself Haz dismisses as a dead end on the merits — "we know what Trotskyism looks like. It's a dead end... Why should I be a Trotskyist? The burden is on you" (FBI AFTER ME! stream) — and its bureaucratic-fight critique he redirects: only the ML tradition (Mao's Cultural Revolution) developed a real answer to bureaucracy, not the permanent-faction tradition.
