""Socialism with a human face — the Prague Spring slogan — is, in Haz's usage, the name of the Gorbachev disease: socialism rebranded for Western liberal approval.

On Cuba's drift:

> "Around Gorbachev's reforms in the Soviet Union, Gorbachev's socialism with a human face also came to affect Cuba. Everyone thinks Castro's super based, but Castro became another Gorbachev around that time — Cuba wanted a good PR image with the democratic liberal globalist West, so it started to adopt environmentalism and LGBT stuff slowly... but the Cuban people were so conservative and steadfast in opposing it they were never able to [complete it]."

Mariela Castro's campaign as the Cuban instance of the general pattern: PR-oriented reformism as the vector of liberal capture, resisted by the Cuban people's own conservatism.

The Prague Spring itself

Deliberately scandalous (GREENLAND | COOKING GROYPERS stream): after Czechia's post-1991 alignment ("Czechoslovakia was your only chance at Sapiens — you fucked it up"): "The Czech Republic should be a vassal state of Russia. They do a Prague Spring every year just to remind them to know their place... Russian tanks should roll on the streets of Prague every year to remind them how disgusting they've been since 1991." 1968 inverted: the tanks were right; what came after (Havel, NATO) was the betrayal (Kruschev, Secret Speech).
