We already live in socialism
""We already live in socialism" — socialism is not a blueprint to establish but an objective process already realized within capitalism; recognizing this is the precondition for proletarian politics.
The logic
- Engels: trusts and state takeover demonstrate "not only private production ceases, but also planlessness." Socialized production is an accomplished fact; capital is a fetter on forces already social.
- Marx: communism is "the real movement which abolishes the present state of things" — not an ideal against which reality is measured. Definition-mongering about whether X country "counts" is Anglo Box formalism.
- What defines a system is its telos — who commands the socialized productive forces, toward what end. America's economy is already planned (by monopolies, the Pentagon, the Fed); the fight is over the planner.
Haz's version
"We live in a planned economy — but on Wall Street the financial monopolists coordinate with each other to get rich off of this financial planning" (RESPONDING TO THE COMMUNIST PARTY'S INFRARED BAN stream). The task is not to build planning from scratch but to expropriate the planners (Capitalist Socialism, Corporate Socialism under FDR).
