Chiang Ching-kuo
Chiang Ching-kuo, son of Chiang Kai-shek, presided over the liberalization of the Republic of China (ruling over Taiwan province) from a KMT one-party dictatorship into a bourgeois democracy. His rule marked the beginning of the Taiwanese bourgeois's move from hoping for Chinese unification (the KMT) into Taiwanese separatism (the DPP).
