Revisionism

From InfraWiki

Not to be confused with historical revisionism.

Revisionism refers to the revising of Marxism to serve the bourgeoisie. Revisionism is a broad term. While often applied to right-deviationists, who openly concede ground to the bourgeois, it can also apply to left-deviationists, who superficially appear more "anti-bourgeois" but are actually so impractical as to serve the bourgeois. For example, dogmatists, a left-deviation, appear to do the opposite of "revision", but are actually closing down Marxism by assuming that a particular idea must be applied universally.

Right deviations:

  • Reformism - expecting the bourgeois to be wholesome chungaloids and peacefully surrender to the organized proletariat, instead of waging a class struggle. It amounts to class collaboration with the hegemonic bourgeois. (The only reformists who aren't revising Marxism are those who don't claim to be Marxists in the first place.)
  • Orthodox Marxism - the very first revisionists, opponents of Lenin
  • Menshevism, the rejection of vanguardism, which caused the Mensheviks to degenerate into reformists and even tools of tsarism
  • Eurocommunism, a kind of reformism tracing its roots to Khrushchev (also a right-deviationist)
  • the Woke Left, which thinks it's ultra-left for supporting LGBT, but this is actually a neoliberal right-wing ideology tailing the Democrats
  • DSA, which is both reformist and woke left

Left deviations:

Right deviations and left deviations work together and often change places. The very first revisionists, the "Orthodox Marxists", claimed to be dogmatic (left-deviation), but were actually revising Marx's words to justify reformism (right-deviation). And Trotskyists and the Woke Left originated as left-deviation but became right-deviationists, supporting NATO, becoming Democrat-aligned reformists or even neoconservatives.

The true opposite of revisionism is only the Golden Center.

History

Revisionism was first noted by Lenin in the second generation of communism, after the death of Marx and Engels. Eduard Bernstein, who knew them, had gone reformist.

Kautsky became the so-called opponent of Bernstein, but was just a revisionist of a different type. He created so-called Orthodox Marxism.

Collaboration between right and left deviations

The history of revisionism proves that right-deviationists and left-deviationists, while superficially opposed, actually tend to work together. (Despite this, the Golden Center can use their words to weaken each of them, like Stalin working with Bukharin.)

Trotsky's Left Opposition collaborated with Bukharin's Right Opposition against Stalin's collectivization. The Bukharinists said that collectivization and the end of the NEP should never happen. The Trotskyists said they should've collectivized and ended the NEP earlier, and everything was messed up now. Secret Trotskyists and other left-deviationists in government pursued forced collectivization, which alienated the masses against collectivization - strengthening Bukharinist terrorist organizations which rose up and attacked collective farms.

Zhao Ziyang was once a fierce collectivizer. He later tried to become "China's Gorbachev".
