Wilhelm Pieck — first President of the GDR; KPD co-founder with Luxemburg and Liebknecht. Not named in transcribed streams.
The sourced terrain around him: Haz's sustained positive GDR treatment — "socialist Germany," heritage politics, "that was a fine country, actually. A great country. People in East Germany today remember the days of the GDR quite fondly" (IRAN PRESIDENT DEAD? stream) — is a treatment of the state Pieck presided over.
When he names Pieck directly, this page gets the receipts.
